I think I have a NY 1955 suburban plate with an error, but I’m no expert. On the left side it looks like the bolt holes were stamped slightly slanted, then restamped in the correct position (if that was possible). as a result on the top left there are actually 2 holes next to each other, and at the bottom the 2 holes overlap. They don’t appear to be home made holes at all. Is this an “official” error? Does it add to the value? Thanks for any help.

Hello Berntsson! I have seen plates with different “hole errors”. Some on the edge, some like you are referring to. Is it an “official error” I say YES! An error is an error and errors always make the plates more valuable! In my opinion!
Depending on the plate and what a collector or investor may be looking for, would also determine what the plate may be worth.
If you would like to take a picture of your plate and email it to me, I would be happy to post it on the blog here and let others see it!
Thanks!

I have a plate issued in 1982 by Hillsborough County Florida tag office. It was made with the Florida map upside down.
