Members of one of the most popular groups involved in license plate collecting believe that it is the most enjoyable hobby on the planet.  That may be debatable to you but not to them.  Collecting license plates may be found by many to be an odd thing to do but you will be surprised that there are many of them worldwide.  In fact, it is not only the collectors that are many but even the sellers abound.

If you will open the Internet, you can easily find a lot of rare and antique license plates for sale.  There are many ways to find these plates.  You may choose to do it the hard way, which is by scouting from dumps, junkyards and scrap yards of automobiles or sit in front of your computer, which is very convenient, browsing the net for various online stores that sell authentic rare plates or going to antique shops and flea markets.

Today's oldest license plate dates about the 1900s.  Getting these types of plates may be a little harder.  Their prices differ according to the plate's condition, age, history, shape and origin.  For instance, there are many out there who prefer to collect Rare Florida License Plates.  There are also those who prefer to get plates from other states only.  There are also some who want to collect plates from all states.  Reasons vary and preferences differ.  One thing constant about these collectors is their passion for what they do and their determination to achieve it.
